Oneself
How the everyday can shape a live performance
Project Overview

Oneself is a backdrop animation I designed for the IDACO NYC festival in collaboration with choreographer Alessandra Giambelli.
The goal was to create an animation that unveils what goes through the performers’ minds while preparing for a show. We asked the dancers to document random moments of their daily life with photos, sounds, notes. We collected the material and used it to create the choreography and the visuals. I transformed their daily logs into animation and illustration.
Ultimately, we co-shaped the exhibition with the performers. The result was a dance that combined movement and visuals that are personal to the performers, blurring the boundaries between life and the performance itself.
